The Government of Punjab has officially launched the Rahmat Card Program, a dedicated welfare initiative aimed at providing financial assistance and long-term support to widows and orphaned children throughout the province. This landmark program reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening social protection through a transparent and organized support system that promotes dignity, stability, and economic empowerment for vulnerable families.
With an initial funding allocation of Rs. 5 billion, the Rahmat Card Program is designed to reduce the financial burden on disadvantaged households and help them achieve greater self-reliance. In the first phase, the initiative will benefit nearly 50,000 families across Punjab.
Under the program, eligible widows will receive a financial grant of Rs. 100,000, while orphan children will receive Rs. 25,000 each. Families with multiple orphan children can receive up to a maximum total assistance of Rs. 150,000. To ensure transparency and security, all payments will be distributed digitally through biometric verification using the Bank of Punjab and JazzCash systems, ensuring that financial aid reaches deserving beneficiaries directly.
The Punjab government has also integrated the Rahmat Card Program with the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER) to guarantee fair and merit-based selection. Citizens can conveniently apply through the official online portal, mobile application, or by visiting nearby Zakat and Ushr offices.
