Key Highlights of Ramzan Nigehban Card Programme 2026 is a special welfare initiative launched by the Government of Punjab under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to provide financial relief and essential support to low-income families during the holy month of Ramzan. The programme focuses on helping deserving households manage rising expenses while ensuring access to affordable food items and basic necessities across the province.
Through this initiative, the Punjab government aims to deliver dignified and transparent financial assistance to eligible families while maintaining strict control over profiteering, hoarding, and unfair market practices. The programme utilizes a modern digital distribution system to ensure secure and efficient delivery of relief throughout Punjab.
Under the Ramzan Nigehban Card Programme, eligible families receive Rs. 10,000 in direct cash assistance. The government plans to support nearly 4 million families across Punjab through this large-scale welfare initiative. Beneficiaries are issued Ramzan Nigehban Cards, allowing them to withdraw funds from ATMs and use secure digital payment services conveniently.
To improve accessibility, over 400,000 Nigehban Cards have already been distributed directly to citizens at their homes, while the remaining distribution process is targeted for completion before the 10th of Ramzan. The government has also established 167 facilitation camps across various districts to assist citizens with registration, information, and support services.
In addition to financial aid, the programme provides essential commodities at nearly 15% lower prices through Ramzan Bazaars and Sahulat Bazaars operating across Punjab. Furthermore, around 300 Nigehban Dastarkhwans have been set up in 147 cities to provide quality meals for fasting individuals during Ramzan.
To ensure transparency and fair pricing, strict monitoring operations are being carried out by PERA and district price control committees throughout the province.
